I started by cutting a sheet of 8.5 x 11 sugar cardstock in half width-wise. I then cut one of pieces in half to make the card front:
I scored the larger piece of cardstock down the middle to make an A2 card:
Next, I used washi tape to hold down my dies before running the card front through my die cut machine:
I'm going to use the negative space for this card, so I'm saving the positive die cuts for another project. I saved the little pieces for inside the letters (you can see the small pile of them to the left of the card front), but I ended up liking the words better without them.
I then cut a piece of patterned paper from the everything's rosy 6x6 paper pack to fit the card front (so it measured 4.25" by 5.5"):
I then
Once I had the tape applied, I peeled off the red backing and covered the sticky surface with bubblegum glitter. I used a bone folder to rub the glitter so that it was adhered securely:
Finally, the card was ready to be assembled. I added the patterned paper to the card base with a tape runner and used lots of foam tape for the card front:
And, once more, here is the finished product:
Here's a close-up where you can see the glitter shimmer a bit:
Initially, I was planning on adding the glitter to white cardstock, but I'm glad I decided to add it to the patterned paper - I'm really pleased with the finished product.
Now for the challenge: Create a project using glitter and link it in the comments on this post (that's it!). I'll let the challenge run through the end of March, and the randomly chosen winner will receive a $10 gift certificate for a•muse|studio products.
I can't wait to see what you create!
